Cheap Groceries at the Kansas City Price Chopper

Shopping at the Kansas City Price Chopper stores can save money! This grocery chain is exclusive to the Kansas City area. There is a Price Chopper grocery chain on the East coast but this is a different store! It can be confusing if you do a search online for Price Chopper ads.

Kansas City Price Chopper Locations
There are 49 Kansas City Price Chopper locations. You can find them in the suburbs of Kansas city as well. There are two separate chains in the area, Mckeever and Cosentino’s. Most of the time they have the exact same Price Chopper ads, but occasionally one or the other will hold a special sale.
When that happens I always note it on the Price Chopper ads coupon match.
Price Chopper and the Kansas City Community
Since this Price Chopper is exclusive to the Kansas City area they tend to have quite a few local fund raising opportunities. They will advertise these both on the Price Chopper website (note that it is located at My Price Chopper and not PriceChopper.com, which is the website for the East coast chain).
You can also obtain a Price Chopper grocery savings card. The card gets you special prices at Price Chopper as well as great community deals (the community deals can be for things such as trips or Worlds of Fun tickets).
The card will also get you the special quarterly Price Chopper sales. They have had Buy 5 Get 1 Free sales and discounts on gas at Quik Trip. Those will always be noted in the Kansas City Price Chopper Ads and in my coupon match.
Kansas City Price Chopper Coupon Policy
Since the Price Chopper stores are independently owned you can find different rules at different Price Choppers. However, they do have an official internet coupon policy:
- The coupon is clearly legible
- The manufacture’s CONTRACT is completely in tact.
- The coupon has an expiration date and the date has NOT expired.
- The words “Manufacturer Coupon†appear on the coupon.
- The coupon is not store specific to a NON-Price Chopper store.
- The customer has purchased the exact item(s) required by the manufacturer.
- The coupon value will not exceed $5.00.
- The coupons must scan at the register.
- A scanner UPC barcode exists on the coupon.
- No “FREE†computer generated coupons will be accepted.
- Limit one coupon per product purchase.
You can find $5/$25 and $5/$50 total purchase coupons in the Kansas City Entertainment Book. The book has quite a few other local Kansas City coupons so I recommend purchasing it. If you purchase the book through Ebates you will receive an additional rebate back (currently 17.5%).
Kansas City Price Chopper Kids Club
The kids club is a great perk. Sign your kids up for the kids club and you will receive a coupon each month (one per child) for a free product. The only complaint I have about the program is it is almost always a sugar or snack product (it would be great if it was for a fruit), but it is still fun for the kids and a once a month snack probably won’t hurt. The Price Chopper ads kids club also enters your child into a monthly drawing for a prize of some sort (usually tickets to a local show).
If you are in the area then be sure to check out the Kansas City Price Chopper stores! When you pair the Price Chopper ads with coupons you can really save money on your groceries. Plus, you are helping a local grocery store.

Thanks for the wonderful Price Chopper Match-ups. I don’t live in KC anymore, but I have a friend there that I am trying to help get started with couponing. Do you know of any Price Choppers (or any other grocery store in the area) doubles coupons?

Apple Market doubles coupons, but it is only up to $0.49. There are hardly any coupons worth that little anymore so it isn’t much of a help. I stick with Price Chopper and HyVee. They usually beat the competitors. Price Chopper also has coupons in the entertainment book ($5/$50 and $5 off $75 ones). Price Choppers door busters are usually the best and HyVee beats almost everybody with their HyVee products (which is a good generic brand). Where you find a Price Chopper there is usually a HyVee down the street so it is easy to hit both if that is what you want to do!
