Thred-Up (the site that lets you swap the clothes that no longer fit your children for ones that will) has introduced a Summer Reading Swap!
When you send a box of used box to another family who wants them before June 14th you will get $5 in swap credit and a summer reading package worth over $40. You can use your swap credit on a box of books or clothes that you would like!
The summer reading package will include a $25 credit towards book rentals from BookSwim, a 30% plus free shipping coupon for an order at Chronicle Books, and 5 credits ($14.95 value) towards eBook rentals at eBookFling.
How does it work?
- Gather all the books your child no longer reads, and list them by the boxful on thredUP.
- Sign-up for free and thredUP will send you complimentary empty USPS boxes (if you don’t want to wait, go grab them for free at your local post office).
- When another mom picks your box of books, thredUP lets you know. thredUP generates the shipping label and scheduldes home pick-up, so you can send books without leaving the house.
It’s even easier than Goodwill and you’ll send your family’s once loved books directly to another child who wants them.
The Best Part?
For every box you send on thredUP, you’ll earn additional ‘picks’ allowing you to select boxes of pre-loved kids clothes, toys or books listed by other moms across the country. Pay only $5 + shipping to pick one and have it delivered to your door! Just pay shipping if you get the $5 credit!

Love your blog. I am your newest subscriber 🙂
Another awesome source for pre-loved clothes and gear for kids is Storkbrokers.com. I have bought quite a few things there and love the fact I get high quality stuff for not a lot of $$. I also like that I get just what I need (not a BOX of STUFF) and I can ask the seller a question if I need to. I’ve even made a few bucks selling items on there! I highly recommend Storkbrokers 🙂
I haven’t heard of them before. I’ll definitely have to look into them. That is the only problem with Thred up – I always end up getting a box of a few pieces I wanted and a few that were just thrown in.
