Nielson Home Scan is Open Again!

Nielson Homescan

Nielson Homescan

A few weeks ago when I wrote my post about seven online sites where you can make money online a reader asked what my favorite program was and I said Nielson hands down.

The nice thing about Nielson programs is that the Nielson company has been around for a long time so they (and the payments) are very reliable. I have done surveys for them both online and off and I have enjoyed both types.

This offer is for the Nielson Homescan program. It is not for everybody, but everyone should try it to see if it is for them. The people who like it really like it, but there is no commitment so you can stop at any time.

If you join the Nielsen Home Scan Consumer Panel you will earn valuable points, which are redeemable for electronics, household items, jewelry, toy, gift cards, and more. If they are accepting panelists in your area, you’ll receive a price gun that you scan your groceries and coupons to earn points. This is a fun activity for kids to do while you’re putting groceries away and the longer you’re a panelist, the better the prizes get.

You used to be required to have a landline phone in order to participate, but now they do offer the program to those of you who do not have a landline. There is a different page to sign up though:

  • If you have a landline phone then sign up here.
  • If you do not have a landline phone then sign up at this link.

There is the chance that they will not be looking for panelists in your area, but you have to fill out the first page to find out (it will tell you immediately). Those of you who are lucky enough to qualify will get a chance to try out the program.

This looks really interesting. I’ve always wondered how those Nielsen surveys worked. I’m a bit concerned about the privacy aspect, but if the deal sounds good enough I’d be interested in giving it a try.
