Save Money by Not Using Shampoo?

A year and a half ago I took the “no poo” challenge and loved it! Since then I have fallen off the wagon simply because shampoo is so convenient (however healthier and more manageable my hair is without it).

You can see the results of my challenge at this post where I also give a cost analysis and a simple how to guide.

In a nutshell you use a baking soda shampoo and an apple cider or lemon rinse instead of your regular shampoo. You can scent it to whatever you want (one of my favorite parts). Depending on your shampoo habits you will save $4-$203/year or up to $17/month. It may not be a huge savings, but what surprised me is I loved it (and so did my hair).

So what do you think? Is it something you would try? This challenge surprised me – I honestly thought that I would hate it. Now I’m thinking I need to get back on the bandwagon.

or use bodywash

You could do that, but it wouldn’t save you money and most body washes are not good for your hair. The nice thing about the “no poo” system is how great it is on your hair.
