Yesterday we talked about working with rebate programs that are sharing affiliate income with their users. You can always earn even more money by becoming the affiliate yourself. Affiliate programs are easy to join. The key thing to remember is to find products that your readers will like. One thing I noticed, which you may or may not notice on your own blog, is that sidebar affiliate programs tend to not convert. I do not even bother with them anymore. If you find a product or site that you think your readers will like then introduce it in a post.
Commission Junction is a site that runs many different affiliate programs through one account. Find the company you want to promote, apply, and use the links. It is very easy to join and use.
Amazon has always been one of my top income producers; sometimes even going above AdSense. They have a generous program that is tiered based on the number of products that you sell through your link. Combine that with the free Swagbucks Amazon gift certificates and you have a winner! They have made it even easier recently (you can link to the page you want with one click). It is a great program to start with.
MySavings Media is more like a click program, but I threw it in with my affiliates since they offer some paid programs and they all have to convert They offer a variety of programs and sites (some are paid, some are free) that your readers can sign up for and you will get paid when they do.
Escalate Media Network is much like MySavings. They have offers you can promote on your site and get paid for. Many of their offers are image offers and they are very easy to use.
Affiliate programs are great, especially if your site naturally lends to recommending different products. It is yet another way to monetize your site.
TASK – Find an affiliate program that works for you and your blog.
Today you can earn an extra entry into the giveaways by posting what topic in this series has been your favorite so far.
Tomorrow we will talk about making money selling your own products.
