Budget and Coupon Update thru 6/5

Total = $32.85

We just bought an ice cream maker so we stocked up on organic cream at Costco.  It is $2.29/pint for organic cream at the grocery store so we saved a ton!  We also got bread flour and yeast so I can make up some bread as well.  I think we did really good this week (we did get some extra items to make granola even though they were not on sale)

I've been meaning to ask this. When you say an item is FREE, do you mean it's free after coupons or are you counting it as free because of the gift card? Also, how did you get the Old Orchard concentrates for $0.25 each? Thanks.

Oh, I'd love to see your recipe for granola if you want to share it with us.

This was a weird week b/c of the gift card 🙂 Generally I do not count the "savings" of gift cards, but I did with this one since it was free and I got it from talking with corporate. I do like encouraging people to go to corporate with problems and praise because it does work sometimes. (I send about 3 praise emails per complaint – generally not the same companies).

The old orchard was on sale with a coupon (click on the HyVee and you will see the coupon match with a link to the coupon). That brought it to $0.74 and then I took a flat $0.50 off each item to account for the gift card.
