The new topic at Juicebox Jungle is on video cameras and I am excited to share my love of cameras! I must say I am not a super video junkie, but my husband is! My family (and my husbands family as well) lives far away and the only way they can see the kiddos in between the yearly trips is via video.
We catch almost all holidays on video. In fact, my husband almost films non stop. This year he took hours worth of video at Christmas time, but he missed the one thing I wanted! My son received a new wood kitchen and fridge this year, which replaced the recycled kitchen I built the year before. We got rid of the recycled kitchen, transferred all the kitchen toys to the new one, and covered it with a large sheet.
When my son came out he walked over to the sheet, but didn’t touch it. We had been telling him not to touch anything all season and he was still doing good… too good. We wanted him to run over and tear the sheet off first thing!
We waited… and waited… and waited. We opened gifts in spurts throughout the day (hence the tons of video that we did manage to get). Finally he opened a set of new play pots and pans. My husband and I looked at each other excitedly, maybe he would finally get up the guts to take the sheet off the new kitchen (which was sitting in the same spot as his old one. He started making “soup” in his new pot and I asked him where he was going to cook it. He jumped up and ran over to where his kitchen was (and where the new one was under the sheet), then stopped dead in his tracks. He looked confused, shrug his shoulders, and said “I just don’t know”. Then he walked over to his Sit and Spin, put the pot on top and made some cooking noises.
Oh well! We finally told him to take the sheet off and he was super excited. I would have loved to share the Sit and Spin Stove with the family members who were not here.
