Wow! You got some amazing deals there. Do you like Price Chopper better than Hy-Vee or Hen House? How can you tell the Cosentino's Price Choppers from the rest? I'm new to the area and I haven't quite figured out the best places to shop at. Thanks.

Thanks! I've only been to Hen House once. It is actually fairly far away from me. They double coupons up to $0.50, which gets you some freebies, but their regular prices seemed higher.

I tend to go back and forth between HyVee and Price Chopper. All the Price Chopper's I go to have a HyVee close to them so I am able to hit both if I want (I just pick the one that has the best deals that week).

HyVee has better prices on their day to day items. They also sell lots of organics in their natural section. The HyVee brand is also pretty good.

Price Chopper generally offers better "door buster" prices, they have a kids club which gives you a free item each month, and they have entertainment book coupons for $5/$50 and $5/$75 that can be combined with regular coupons. The ones I go to are great with coupons and usually have very nice cashiers. Their day to day prices tend to be higher. A few are Cosentino's although I don't think there is any way to find out which is which unless you look it up online (they advertised the specific locations on their ad when they were running the specials – that is the first time I've seen that in a few years!) The different PC's can have different coupon policies, but I haven't run into an issue with coupons and PC for just over three years now (and that was the only prob).

Thanks for explaining that to me. I really appreciate it. I'm still a little confused about how to tell the Cosentinos from the rest, but that's OK. I probably won't make my way to a Price Chopper too soon. Hy-Vee is reasonably nice and cheap in my opinion, though I sometimes envy the deals you're able to get at Price Chopper.

Hen House seems expensive and upscale and I hate the maze-like layout of the store, which makes it a bit difficult to grab one or two items quickly. Maybe that's just the one I shop at.

No problem 🙂 The Cosentino thing is confusing. You really don't have to worry about it. They usually have the same ads/coupon policy/website. The only time there has ever been a difference is the past three weeks when the Cosentino ones ran extra specials. The ad had a list of the addresses for the ones that were Cosentino, otherwise I wouldn't have known.

I thought the same thing about the Hen House I shopped at the one time. It wasn't worth the extra drive for me.
