Valassis recently did a study on coupons and found that 94% of people had used a coupon in the past year and 77% of those said they used them “regularly”.
The part that surprised me is that only 50-78% (depending on the category) of people said they expected to continue it in the future.
Coupons are great when you use them so you can live on a lower paycheck, make it through a recession, or eat food other than Ramen Noodles.
Coupons are even better when you can use them to increase your savings! If you live below your means then you will have more money to save for retirement, your children’s future, a house, a reliable vehicle and more.
I think it is great that more people are using coupons, but I look forward to the day where people see coupons as a way to get ahead instead of a way to make it through.
