The new year is coming up so it is a great time to be looking at your monthly expenses. One of the expenses that might be “extra” is cable. We do not have cable, but we do get Netflix. It is cheaper for us than cable and we can pick out exactly what we want.
Blockbuster has a similar program, but you can also swap and drop off at the store (not just through the mail). Mail returns and deliveries are free in both programs.
Prices for the first month range from $4.49-$9.99 and then you can decide if it is worth it to you. After that the prices range from $11.99-$19.99 a month. Still, at those prices it generally saves you money compared to cable.
If you love your cable TV then this probably won’t be worth the savings, but if you are like us and cable was just something we had as something to do then you will love being able to watch shows you actually pick out with no commercials!

We haven't had cable/satellite for over 10 years and don't miss it. It's great for getting the kids interested in doing other things besides watching tv as well. We also rent movies free from RedBox and can watch some shows online [free]. =)
That's great! We haven't had it for a while, but we did get it for a brief time while we lived in KS. They had a package that was only $14 a month and had quite a few of the channels that we liked. Then when we lost that we went with Hollywood Video's program, then they went out of business and we went with Netflix.
Our computer doesn't download shows/videos very quickly and we have a small monitor. DS did get me a wireless box for Christmas though that is supposed to download them straight to your TV – I can't wait to try it.
