Dinner’s Under $10 – Espresso Meat Rub!

You may be surprised to find how delicious it is to use espresso as a meat rub! It has the capability to provide bolder flavors to the meat that will be subtle upon cooking.

  • 2 tbsp. Coarse ground espresso
  • 1 1/2 tbsp. Salt
  • 1 1/2 tbsp. Black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. Cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp. Garlic powder

Directions:

  1. Preheat the broiler in your oven, and place the espresso grounds on a cookie sheet covered with aluminum foil. Broil the espresso grounds for one minute, and watch carefully.
  2. Stir together all of the ingredients in a small bowl, and rub them into your meat of choice. This rub works best with steak, pork, or chicken.
  3. Grill your meat to your preference, and enjoy!
