I love TJMaxx and Marshalls! You can always get great prices with their off-price savings without having to wait for a sale 🙂 I love a challenge even more so finding what items I could purchase at TJMaxx and Marshalls for $50 ($25 at each store) was fun!
TJMaxx was first. I never realized that TJMaxx has been around since 1977! They carry high quality, top name, in season merchandise. They have more than 800 stores nationwide and some of them even have an in store designer boutique called “The Runway”. You can go to this site to find the nearest TJMaxx (and to see if your store has The Runway). More that 10,000 items are delivered each week to every store so the merchandise is always changing.
I found a pair of pajamas for my son for $9.99 (suggested retail according to Little Me is $20). They are in a car print so he LOVES them!! He was pretty excited when I held them up at the store. Then I fell in love with a cute (and super soft) newborn set. I haven’t officially announced it yet, but we are expecting 🙂 We do not know the gender yet (if we had then I would have gone way over my $25 limit! There were so many adorable tiny baby things. I will definitely be heading back once I find out if this little one is a boy or girl). The set I found looks like it would work for a boy or girl. It even has an embroidery of a giraffe (always a plus since hubby works with them). Suggested retail for this set (according to the Vitamin’s Baby tag) was $32, but I managed to snag it for only $12.99! Then I bought some snacks (Cashew Brittle, mmm) for me!
For those of you who like to shop and not let people know you bought the item “on sale”, I noticed something really nice about TJMaxx and Marshalls. Their tags are separate from the company tags. In other words, you can cut the TJMaxx or Marshalls tag from the item and still have a NWT item to gift away (with the manufacturers retail price on it, not a sale price). Of course, you wouldn’t be able to return it if you cut the tags off, but in some cases this can be a nice feature.
Next was Marshalls 🙂 Marshalls has been in business for more than 40 years! Most stores have a shoe megashop (who doesn’t love shoes) and many of the stores have a section called The CUBE, which is a new high energy juniors department. Since they have more than 800 stores in 42 states it is likely that they will have one in your area. You can go to this site to find the closest one.
