Money Making Monday – 7 Great Side Jobs!

I read a great yahoo article the other day about 7 side jobs you can do for extra cash. I took out one because it was a side job for Attorneys only, but the other 6 were great ideas! When it comes to making extra money, every little bit counts! Sometimes all you need is a little boost and these jobs can help you do that 🙂

Dog Walker
According to the article the average hourly wage for a dog walker is $16.29!! I couldn’t imagine paying somebody that much to walk my dog (if I had one), but then again, I have never taken a dog to the spa either 🙂 The nice thing about this side job is you are getting exercise while you are working and it can fit nicely into your current schedule.

Handyman
The average hourly wage for this job is $17.33 and that seems reasonable to me. If you are handy at anything you might be able to charge for your work! Advertise in the paper or on Craigslist. It can be anything from plumbing to raking leaves (or cleaning out gutters, that seems to be a common one around here).

Medical Transcription
The average hourly wage is $13.78. You will have to learn to be a fast typer and take some courses, but once you are certified you can do this job on your own time.

Income Tax Preparer
The average hourly wage is $18.19. If you have the gift of taxes and numbers then there are plenty of people who would be happy to turn over this mess to you, LOL!

Teach a Hobby
The average hourly wage is around $20. Anything goes for this category! Do you knit, crochet, play the piano, sing, tutor, etc?! There are always people looking for teachers for things like that. It can be a way for you to find time to do your hobby plus teach others how to do it (and make money). It is a win win situation.

Babysitter
The average hourly wage is $9. Most of us know how frustrating it can be to find a good sitter. If you like being around kids then this might be the extra job for you!
