Swagbucks vs. IRazoo – Money Making Monday!

It’s Money Making Monday so it’s time to look at some online money makers. Today I am going to compare two of the big searching for money sites, IRazoo and Swagbucks.

Both sites offer gift cards and prizes in exchange for searching on their site.

Swagbucks gives you “swagbucks” which come at random when you search. They usually show up in the first five searches. If you haven’t gotten one after 20 searches then try again later. I have found that you generally only win twice a day so I search once in the morning until I get a swagbuck and then once again in the evening. You can get different denominations of swagbucks. I almost always have gotten a 1 or 2, but I have gotten as high as a 20 before. On average I get 3 swagbucks a day, which means that (without referrals) you can earn 90 swagbucks a month if you use it twice a day. This can earn you $10 a month to Amazon. Each referral gets you up to 100 swagbucks. You earn when they earn via searches (up to 100). That means that if your referral continues to use the program you can earn $10 in Amazon gift certificates for each one.

IRazoo gives you points everytime you refer or leave a comment about a site. You will get 4 points to refer and 4 points to leave a comment. Search for something, click on the site, leave a comment and give it a thumbs up or down and you get 8 points. Move down your search list. It says you can only get 100 points a day, but it seems to be unlimited. If you get 100 points a day then you will have enough for a $5 Amazon gift certificate at the end of the month. It takes 5-10 minutes a day to reach 100 points. You have the chance of winning a surprise $5 gift certificate, but there seems to be only 1 that is handed out a day so the chances are slim. Referrals will get you an extra 50 points so if you get 60 referrals then you will get a $5 Amazon gift certificate, LOL. That isn’t great. If your referral wins a surprise certificate then you will get that too, but remember – chances are slim.

Personally, I use both sites. If you use them both and keep exchanging for Amazon certificates then you will have $105 (with no referrals) to spend at Amazon by the end of November. That could make a good dent in your Christmas expenditures. You can combine your certificates with the great deals that start popping up around Christmas and that money will go far.

If I had to choose one then I would go with Swagbucks. I tend to forget about IRazoo and the search engine itself is not as good as Swagbucks.
