This WAHM Wednesday we are going to meet a whole congo! A congo is a group of people who sell together on the same site/page. The Chain Gang is a group of seven crocheters.
Bellibowbottoms is ran by Bj, mom to five kids. She has been crocheting for just about 7 years. Her favorite thing is amigurumi and she has made around 100 different ones! She joined the congo because she loved the idea of showcasing crochet since knit already gets so much attention.
Get Hooked! is run by Lyn who has two boys and one more on the way! She started crocheting when she was eight. She crocheted on and off, but became an “addict” six years ago! She started by crocheting hats as a reward for her highschool students 🙂 Her favorite items to make are making clothes! She said she likes the challenge of getting it to fit right. She joined the congo hoping to show people that crochet is just as wearable as knit!
The Naughty Hook is run by Jennifer with one kiddo and one on the way. She has been crocheting since she was six years old! Her first project was a blanket. She makes things for grownups and children. She is working on some really cute sleep sacks and she hopes to add bikini’s to her line this summer! That sounds so cute 🙂
Toothless Grinz is run by Lisa. She has four kiddos ranging in age from one to eight. She has been crocheting for 23 years! She shows off her dying skills and boy does she have some beautiful colorways 🙂 She is going to also start carrying wool items made from her own pattern.
Unreal Baby has one little girl Isla Penelope (isn’t that an adorable name!). She crochets because she wanted to create cherished items for her daughter to keep. She makes longies (pants that can be used as covers over cloth diapers) and other things for children and families. Her grandmother taught her how to crochet when she was a young girl and she picked it back up after the birth of her daughter.
Zab’s Mom is a stay at home mom single mama of one two year old who started creating items when she was in seventh grade. She said her teacher used to tell her “you’ll be quite the seamstress one day if you just slowed down”! She used to go to thrift stores and find fun skirts and then transform them down to her double zero size. This process created beautiful dresses after many hours of trial and error! Her first “mom” project was a mei tei for her baby and from there she went to cloth diapers. She worked on her own pattern using trial and error by taking the things she liked and didn’t like from the diapers she bought. Her new product is a stretchy fitting slipper that can be worn inside and outside the house! Now she is moving on to knit fabrics. Because she keeps creating new products as her son ages her tagline is “With Zab we Naturally Grew”.
Hooked on Homemade is ran by Rachel, who has two children. She has been crocheting since she was eight. She started back up after she had her son. She said she used to make “old granny squares” and became bored, but now the possibilities are endliess and she creates something new every time she grabs her hook!
Zab’s Mom has offered to do a giveaway 🙂 She is giving away an AIO (all in one – you will not need a cover, it works just like a disposable) newborn diaper and slippers worth $35 🙂
