WAHM Wednesday and a Giveaway with Lil’ Outlaws!

I had the pleasure of trading with Jacklen of Lil’ Outlaws this past month for some of her wonderful soaps. When my husband came home from work laughing because my son had his head in the envelope sniffing he said “See, that is what you look like!” I knew then that Jacklen was a candidate for WAHM Wednesday!

I love homemade soaps! I think it is a lost art. The luxury of homemade soaps is like the luxury of a made from scratch cake. Few people do it nowadays, but when you really get to see the difference between homemade and store bought you realize that they don’t even compare. When I made my new years resolution to buy from WAHM’s more often soaps were on the top of my list!

Jacklen started Lil’ Outlaws as a means to stay home with her children McCayla (5) and Canon (2). She, like most of us, didn’t want her babies to have to be put in daycare. She wanted to do something that could keep her home and still bring in some income. She started with wooden nursury letters. She matches the letters to the nursury theme. She got so much positive feedback that she decided to try to sell them online and they took off! She then branched off into photo frames, coathooks, and hairbow holders. Her soaps, rump solution, and deoderizer came next. Now she also sells tutus, wool dryer balls, and baby legs!

This is a direct quote from Jacklen:

“Lil’ Outlaws strives to produce the highest quality items – I use as many natural ingredients as possible, and very few artificial colors. Whenever possible, I’ll use local and organic items, as a means of supporting our local workers. Things like honey, milk, fruits, and vegetables – these are magnificent in handcrafted soap, and if I can buy them in our town or from a local farm, I’m happy to do so. I pride myself on expedient shipping and the best customer service around. It’s my goal to never have a customer have to wait too long for their package, and to never have a customer unhappy. I know you can’t please everybody all of the time, but that won’t stop me from trying! I do both MP (Melt & Pour/Glycerin) soaps and CP (Cold Process/old fashioned) soaps. People have a wide range of preferences and I do my best to cater to that. (all of the attached photos are CP soaps, I”ll include a link to some MP for you) Also because of my own son’s allergies and sensitivities, I’m very mindful of potential irritants in my products. If a customer has sensitivities or allergies, all they have to do is mention it to me and I’ll easily be able to make a product to suit them!

Jacklen said the most challenging thing is balancing home and work. She said that her husband is a huge help in this area!

She got the name for her store because she lives in “the cowboy capitol of the world!” Her husband has a photography business called Outlaw Photography Studios so it was only natural to go to Lil’ Outlaws for her baby and childrens items. She uses that name for both her store and her childrens/maternity photography.

You can contact Jacklen at her website Lil’ Outlaws. Her DS username TaylorMomof2 and her Cafemom username is OutlawMUA.

I think the Lil’ Outlaws Custom Wooden Decor Letters are the bomb! I had my sister make some out of cardboard and covered them in patterns. The wood ones look so much cooler
