This week we have a few more readers tips from the Mary Kay giveaway! That giveaway is now over, but you can still enter the $90+ in household supplies and Custom knit shorties or cloth wipes giveaway 🙂
Alice emailed me her thrifty tip… Coupons! That is so true 🙂 Coupons can save you a lot of money. If you can’t figure out where to start then read Coupons 101.
My thrifty tip is I never use papertowels. I use old washcloths or hand towels instead. I just wash them and reuse them. I also keep snacks, such as little bags of pretzels, in the car. When someone in the car asks to stop at a drive through because they are getting hungry, I just hand out the pretzels or granola bars.
This is an excellent tip! I use “un”paper towels too and I love them. I actually bought some unpaper towels from Heather at For The Love and I use them all the time – even when we have company over!
Donna said you should do the Walgreens rebates every month! That is so true. Walgreens is one of the easiest programs out there. I use the overage I earn at walgreens to buy most of my household products (it is split with CVS, but I find that Walgreens is easier). If you don’t know where to start then check out my post on How to Start Saving at Walgreens.
If you color your hair at home, mix some of the after conditioner into the color mix for a great shine and conditioning. Rinse your hair in cold water after a shampoo. For an oil package for your hair you can use regular food cooking oil (crisco, etc.) heat it up a little in the microwave and mix it into your hair and let it sit for 20-30 minutes, rinse in lukewarm water and last in cold water. If you run out of shaving cream you can use conditioner instead.
I love those tips!
