Recently I was directed to an amazing Credit Card Applications. This is a great site! There are four main parts to the site and each one offers wonderful information.
The blog section of Credit Card Applications has articles on how to stop receiving “pre-approved” credit card offers, advice on identity theft, how to use your cards, current news that can affect the credit market, and more. This type of information can be good for people just starting to learn about credit and people with lots of credit card experience. There are many changes in our economy right now (one of the big ones is a new president!). The blog covers relevant news topics. The most recent post explains Barack Obamas 5 star rating system for credit cards that is supposed to help guard against predatory lending practices.
There is also a Credit Card Education part that is useful for everybody. Every question I could possibly imagine about credit cards seems to be on there! Everything from understanding the different types of credit cards to how they affect your credit score.
In the Resources and Tools section they give you the addresses for disputing information on your credit report. They even give you a sample letter that you can send (just make sure to enter your own information!).
I want to be able to find the best credit card without being bombarded by snail mail (which are usually NOT the best offers). Credit Card Applications is the best site I have found for allowing me to choose the best card for me. You can find a credit card based on the category you are looking for (student, bad credit, low interest, balance transfer, etc), on the rewards program (air, hotel, gas, groceries, etc), and even by your credit level or the bank you want to work with.
You can compare the cards you like side by side and once you decide which one you would like you can apply right there. I have never seen a comparison chart that is easier to understand!
Head on over and learn a few new things!
