Frugal Organic Food Tips!

Time to share some reader tips for frugal organic foods!

Here is Nata’s tip:
“We are trying to eat as organic as we can. Organic food can be pricey, BUT if you shop at some ethnic stores, you can get great organic food much cheaper. In Russia pretty much everything is organic. We drive to Russian stores once in two months (it’s more than an hour away) and stock up with good organic and relatively cheap food. Every major city has at least one Russia store(usually much more than that) We have Arabic store in the area and many of their products don’t have any preservatives and are naturally grown. We also have Polish small store not far from us, which sells organic food without labeling it and advertising it as “organic”, because to most of the Eastern Europeans who shop there, it is kind of obvious. Their meats are imported from Polad ad they are fantastic and inexpensive. My American hubby loves it! I also just found out that we have organic farms in the area. haven’t checked them yet, but i will soon.”

Good tip! The ethnic aisles in many food stores offer staples like spices at cheaper prices than in the “regular” aisles.

I never thought to check the ethnic aisles in “regular” grocery stores for spices! Thanks 🙂
