The final reason The Street gives for us not being rich is that we fail to take advantage of opportunities. So, do you take advantage of every opportunity that comes your way?
Some opportunities are lost because it “isn’t the right time”. We feel as though we are stuck where we are at for the moment, but that maybe – at some point – we will be able to break free….
Does that ever happen?
The next time you say “this just isn’t the right time” step back and make sure that is true. We never want to become stuck in one place. That attitude will just hold you back.
The last time I said “this just isn’t the right time” was when my husband thought about taking another job a few states away. We were at the end of our pregnancy and it just seemed like we couldn’t do it. I can’t help but wonder that if we had made it happen how things would look right about now. We would have sold our house when it was still worth something. We would not have been able to buy because the area we would have gone to was too expensive (one of the other reasons holding us back) so we would have been renting for a few months.
It seemed like it wasn’t the right time. Now we know that we would have gotten top dollar for our house. We would have been renting for a while, but we could have afforded a new home after the real estate crash.
You will never know when the right time is – so be sure to take advantage of every opportunity!
