Buying Things you Don’t Use – Habit #7 of the Poor

Back to the 10 Reasons why you aren’t rich. Reason #7 is that you buy things you don’t use.

I hate this one – mainly because I am super guilty of it. I don’t count the stuff I give the the Women’s shelter or to family (most of my CVS/Walgreens loot that I don’t keep goes there). The stuff I buy and don’t use is sitting all around my house. I simply have too much stuff!

I am worst at crafting supplies and kids toys. Kids toys are so cute and generally they are fairly cheap. When I buy supplies to craft I generally go WAAAYYY overboard – getting enough for 100 crafts, but then I only have time to make 4-5, LOL!

So here is the challenge… Fill a box, any size box, with things that you no longer use. Call up your local charity, or drop it off. You will feel better, you will have less clutter, and you will be helping others out.

Next time you want to buy something new wait a day or two before actually purchasing the item. That is often just enough time to weed out the items that you do not truly need.

And now for reason #8 You Don’t Understand Value!
